Pedestrian and Bicycle Study
In 2013, Hennepin County and the City of Brooklyn Center worked together to gather information regarding a pedestrian and bicycle study. Input was solicited from residents and business owners to aid in identifying different methods to increase biking and walking in Brooklyn Center. Thank you for providing information regarding existing conditions, where people walk and bike, safety concerns, and identifying gaps in the current sidewalk and trail facilities.
The pedestrian and bicycle final study report is now complete and was formally adopted by the City Council at its March 24, 2014, meeting. This final report includes recommendations for improving biking and walking throughout the City. Recommended improvements are being further evaluated for consideration to be included in the Capital Improvements Program.
Goals of the Study
  • document existing conditions
  • identify future needs
  • encourage walking and biking for health reasons
