History
In an effort to continue improving the area's aesthetics and pedestrian safety, plans were developed to continue the Bass Lake Road streetscaping improvements easterly across Highway 100 to Logan Avenue along County Road 57. Construction plans, specifications and contract documents were prepared for this project. On September 13, 2010, the project was awarded to Sunram Construction, Inc. Construction began in September 2010 and was completed in the spring of 2011.

Operation and Maintenance Responsibilities
Although this is a county jurisdictional roadway and is under Hennepin County's control, the City of Brooklyn Center is under agreement to maintain certain elements of the project as follows:
  • Plantings, trees and irrigation system in the median and boulevard areas
  • Retaining walls
  • Fences, rails, benches and litter receptacles
  • Colored concrete and sidewalk
  • Pedestrian bridge over Shingle Creek on the north side of Bass Lake Road
Hennepin County will continue to maintain the roadway and traffic signal systems through the corridor. Three Rivers Park District is a new partner with the City and is responsible for the concrete trail along the south side of County Road 57 to Logan Avenue.
