Preparing For & Surviving Disasters
Are you prepared for a tornado, flood, fire, flu or other disaster? Although natural disasters are unavoidable, preparing for them will help you and your family better survive the physical, emotional and financial impacts. The following resources provide guidelines to help you prepare for and respond to an emergency.

What You Can Do
There are simple things that you can do to prepare yourself, your family and your business.

Make a Plan 
  • Put it on paper and keep it in a safe place
  • Learn the plans for you schools, workplaces and other places your family frequents
  • Check your insurance coverage- I.e. flood zones, sewer backups, replacement costs, etc. 
  • Update it annually
Build an Emergency Kit 
  • Include items for pets too
  • Don't forget activities for the kids
  • Include medications and first aid supplies
