Swim Lesson Levels
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Introduces floating, kicking, gliding arm and leg action & breath control. Focus is on allowing child to become safe and comfortable in water & work on beginner skills. No previous skills needed. 

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Introduces the fundamentals of the front crawl and elementary backstroke. Students must pass level 1 or be able to float on their front and back.

Level 3: Stroke Development
Builds on skills of level 2. Focus is on stroke development as participants learn to survival float, swim front crawl, diving skills, & elementary backstroke. Scissors & dolphin kicks are introduced. Students learn the fundamentals of treading water.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Builds on level 3. Work on the breaststroke, butterfly, front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and safety skills. Students will learn the scissors kick and develop endurance and confidence in previously learned strokes. Must be able to swim 30 yards with both front crawl & elementary backstroke.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Must have passed level 4 or swim 50 yards of front crawl, elementary backstroke and demonstrate the sidestroke. Students refine key strokes such as butterfly, breaststroke, front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, work on flip turns, and dives.

Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
Must swim 25 yards of breaststroke, sidestroke, back crawl and butterfly; 75 yards of front & elementary backstroke. Polish strokes to allow swimming with more ease, efficiency and power over greater distances. Students will work on strokes focusing on being able to complete 500 yards of continuous swimming using all strokes learned in previous levels including turns, survival floats, and surface dives.
