The adaptive recreation program is a cooperative effort of the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, Plymouth, & Reach For Resources.  

Reach For Resources
Reach is an agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the West & Northwest Hennepin areas. Services include information and referral, advocacy and counseling.

Programs may include:
Sports Sampler - Youth, August Action - Youth, Teen Explorers - Teens, Girls Club - Teens, Weekend Adventures - Teens & Adults, Wednesday Night Social - Adults, On The Town - Adults, Softball - Adults, Bowling - Youth, Teens & Adults, Family Yoga - Youth, Teens & Adults, and Dances - Teen & Adults.


Inclusion 
Brooklyn Center Recreation and Reach For Resources provide inclusion facilitators for children and adults with disabilities who would like to participate in recreation programs.  A minimum of two weeks notice is required for a successful inclusion. 

Online Registration with Inclusion
Register for the program via the online registration  page.  Complete and submit an inclusion form.

Phone and In Person Registration with Inclusion
Call 763-569-3400 or visit the community center to register.  Please indicate that you are requesting inclusion services and will complete and submit an inclusion form.

Swim Lessons
The Community Center offers adaptive swim lessons for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities and Aqua Buddies for children with Autism. Ratio is one student/one instructor.
