The adaptive recreation program is a cooperative effort of the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, Plymouth, & Reach For Resources.  

Reach For Resources
Reach is an agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the West & Northwest Hennepin areas. Services include information and referral, advocacy and counseling.

Programs may include: Sports Sampler - Youth, August Action - Youth, Teen Explorers - Teens, Girls Club - Teens, Weekend Adventures - Teens & Adults, Wednesday Night Social - Adults, On The Town - Adults, Softball - Adults, Bowling - Youth, Teens & Adults, Family Yoga - Youth, Teens & Adults, and Dances - Teen & Adults.

Reach For Resources provides inclusion facilitators for children and adults with disabilities who would like to participate in their city recreation programs. Register for a program at your recreation department. After registering, contact Reach For Resources to discuss the needs/accommodations for your child. A minimum of two weeks notice is required for a successful inclusion. 

Swim Lessons
The Community Center offers adaptive swim lessons for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities and Aqua Buddies for children with Autism. Ratio is one student/one instructor.
