Reporting Street Light Outages
There are approximately 1,600 street lights located in the City of Brooklyn Center, some that are City owned and operated and some that are owned and operated by Xcel Energy (see map).

To report a street light that is out and owned by the City of Brooklyn Center, please contact Public Works at 763-585-7100 or report online through Notify the City.

To report a street light that is out which is owned by Xcel Energy, please contact Xcel Energy directly at 800-960-6235 or you can complete and submit their online outage form.

Mid-Block Street Lights
Requesting a Mid Block Street Light
The City of Brooklyn Center's street light policy provides for lighting at intersections and also at mid-block locations where spacing exceeds 700 feet.
